Title: Health & Wellness 2.0 with social networks for healthcare

*SCOPE OF THE WORKSHOP*

Web Intelligence consists of a multidisciplinary area dealing with exploiting data and services over the Web, to create new data and services using both Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques. Communities appear as a first-class object in the areas of web intelligence and agent technologies, as well as a crucial crossroads of several sub-domains (i.e. user modelling, protocols, data management, data mining, content modelling, etc.). These sub-domains impact the nature of the communities 
and the applications which are related to them. These applications are numerous, and the success of well-known Social Network Sites for entertainment should not be allowed to over-shadow the other application domains, for instance in education, health, design, knowledge management, and so forth. 

The workshop will provide presentation and discussion opportunities for researchers working on web intelligence applied to collaborative networks, such as virtual communities. The possibilities and consequences of the web usage for collaborative networks are tremendous and new tools are required to satisfy users and service providers.

The workshop Web Intelligence and Communities expects contributions on topics such as:
 Multi-agent models and tools for Virtual Communities (VC)
 Services and Grid Services for VC, Service oriented architectures
 Web information mining, filtering and retrieval within/for VC
 Web-based applications and platforms for VC

*SUBMISSIONS*

The Web Intelligence and Communities workshop welcomes the submission of theoretical, experimental, methodological as well as application papers. Discussion papers and demonstration papers (for presentation during the workshop) are also welcome.

Submitted papers should be 10 pages maximum in length (4 pages for the discussion and demonstration papers), including figures and references. The paper must be formatted in pdf according to style guidelines of ACM SIG Proceedings Template available here: http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates

The WI&C workshop are traditionnaly followed by post-proceedings
published in a renowned international journal (for the 2 last ones, it
was the International Journal on Web Intelligence & Agent
Systems). Discussions are in progress to decide which journal will
publish a special issue with the post-proceedings of WI&C 2012.

The Program Committees of the 2011 IEEE/WIC/ACM International Joint Conference on Web Intelligence and Intelligent Agent Technology (WI-IAT�11) invite proposals for Workshops. The Workshops will be held within the Conference, August, 22, 2011 at Lyon, France.

The main goal of the WI-IAT�11 workshops is to stimulate and facilitate active exchange, interaction and comparison of approaches, methods and ideas related to specific topics, both theoretical and applied, in the general areas related to Web Intelligence and Intelligent Agent Technology. The workshops will provide an informal setting where participants will have the opportunity to discuss specific technical topics in an atmosphere that fosters the active exchange of ideas.

The workshop organizers will be responsible for advertising the workshop, forming the program committees, reviewing and selecting the papers, and guaranteeing a high quality worthy of the prestige and range of the Conference. All papers accepted for workshops will be included in the Workshop Proceedings published by IEEE Computer Society Press and will be available at the workshops.

The workshop organizers will also have the discretion of editing selected papers (after their expansion and revision) into books or special journal issues. Workshops may be full-day or half-day. A full-day workshop should select 10-14 regular papers, while a half-day workshop should select 5-7 regular papers, from a large number of submissions. Submissions accepted as workshop papers will be allocated 4 pages in the proceedings. The workshop organizers should ensure the presence of authors of accepted papers at the workshops. Optionally, the workshop may be started or concluded by a panel focusing on interesting aspects, controversial issues, or unsolved problems to stimulate lively, thoughtful, and thought-provoking debate; we expect the workshop organizers to actively engage the audience and help them gain a deeper understanding of the issues. The goal of a panel is to debate and thus panels should always reflect more than one point of view.

Workshop Proposal Submission

Workshop organizers should submit their proposals (PDF) directly to the three Workshop Chairs via e-mail (see their email addresses below).
Workshop proposals should include the following elements:

- Title of the workshop
- Names of workshop organizers, affiliation, mailing address and e-mail address
- Short CV of organizers
- A description of the topics of the workshop (not exceeding 200 words)
- Type of the workshop (full-day or half-day)
- A description of how the workshop will contribute to the field of Web Intelligence and/or Intelligent Agent Technology
- A short description on how the workshop will be advertised so as to ensure a sufficiently wide range of authors and high quality papers
- Information about previous offerings of the proposed workshop.

The 2011 IEEE/WIC/ACM International Conference on Web Intelligence and Intelligent Agent Technology (WI-IAT 2011)
is a premier event for the Web Intelligence and Intelligent Agent community. The two fields continue to experience
rapid growth and manifest interesting synergies in both theoretical and practical terms. While the WI-IAT 2011 main
conference provides an outstanding forum for the discussion of theoretical and conceptual achievements, its demonstration
track aims at exploring applications and practical results.

This call for demonstrations invites researchers and practitioners from academia and industry
alike to submit proposals for the WI-IAT 2011 demo track.

Demonstration papers will be printed in the main conference proceedings, while the actual
demonstrations will be highlighted in a specially arranged venue at the conference, facilitating
the interaction between conference attendees and demonstration presenters.

Demonstration submissions should include a title, a short description of the system, a summary
of its novel characteristics, and the functions and features to be demonstrated. Submissions must
be in English, must not exceed two (2) pages, and must be formatted according to the main
conference's submission guidelines.

The demonstration papers will be 2 pages in length including the bibliography, and must
be submitted online at the conference website.

Barely more than ten years after the birth of the World Wide Web, the Global Information Infrastructure is daily reality. In spite of the many applications in all domains of our societies: e-business, e-commerce, e-learning, e-science, and e-government, for instance, and in spite of the tremendous advances by engineers and scientists, the seamless integration of information and services remains a major challenge. The current shared vision for the future is one of semantically rich information and service oriented architecture for global information systems. This vision is at the convergence of progress in technologies such as XML, Web services, RDF, OWL, of multimedia, multimodal, and multilingual information retrieval, and of distributed, mobile and ubiquitous computing.

Submitted papers will be blindly peer reviewed by at least three members of the international program committee and carefully evaluated based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. Accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings to be published by ACM (pending approval) and the Austrian Computer Society in books@ocg book series. Introduction
With the popularity of Web-based applications, and widespread use of advanced mobile devices, socializing over the Web has become an integral part of our daily lives. Web 2.0 technologies have further fueled new collaborative applications leading to a new "social" dimension based on which new Web content is being produced and disseminated. This social dimension and new Web content developments led to a flurry of new applications and speculations on their potential to revolutionize future enterprises. Given how enthusiastically people have embraced social networks on the Web such as Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter, new models of social networks could also have a room within the enterprise. Already, some enterprises have deployed many of them to increase collaboration and communication among employees. However, these dominating social-networking Web applications lack some tools that would make them truly efficient enterprise solutions. Sparked by consumer use, could social networks become an enterprise trend as well? Would market shares be influenced? Will employees adopt new practices with the infiltration of social networks in the enterprise? Do we need to deploy new tools/infrastructure/framework? How well this form of socialization benefit enterprises? Could it liberate workforces from the constraints of raditional emails? And, could social networks become a B2B phenomenon?
 
 
Objective of the Special Issue
This special issue provides a forum for addressing the innovative opportunities, which are emerging from the confluence of Web 2.0 developments and social network applications in enterprise contexts. In this special issue, we solicit visionary as well as technology and application papers, which address Web-based social networks implications on future enterprises. Particular emphasis will be given  
to papers discussing data sharing scenarios, novel technologies or methodologies for building and managing enterprise social networks. We also welcome contributions relating to particular types of applications as well as to cross-cutting issues. This special issue journal aims at catalyzing new collaborations between academia and business operators, focusing on next generation Web empowered enterprises, which incorporates new Web-based ideas of collaboration  
as well as consumers and business partners Web empowerment.

Call for Doctoral Consortium Papers

The ICWE 2010 Doctoral Consortium aims at providing PhD students an opportunity to discuss their research in Web Engineering in an international forum, and with a panel of well-known experts in the field. Additionally, it will host several invited talks both to serve as motivation for students and to address their topics of interest.

The aims of the Doctoral Consortium are to:

* provide PhD students with a welcoming atmosphere to present their research, receive useful feedback from senior researchers, and exchange ideas and experiences with other students
* help PhD students develop their research questions, methodology and research plan
* support a new generation of researchers

PhD students carrying out research in Web Engineering are invited to submit a position paper to the Doctoral Consortium, to be reviewed by the Consortium's program committee. The criteria used for accepting a paper include potential quality of the research, contribution of the work to the field of Web Engineering, originality of the work, and overall quality of the position paper.

Accepted position papers will be presented during the ICWE 2010 Doctoral Consortium and will be published by Springer in the LNCS Series.

The author of the best proposal will be granted with a free registration to ICWE 2010.

*SCOPE OF THE WORKSHOP*

Internet is a medium allowing services and information exchange in an open and decentralized environment, notably with numerous applications for virtual enterprises. It concerns enterprise information systems, local, regional and governmental organizations but it also involves more and more common users in the so-called web 2.0. The main stake is to use Internet as a technological support to communication, information exchange, service composition personalisation and access by all and anywhere. In this perspective, some work has been done these last years to combine classical techniques of information management with artificial intelligence technologies thus creating a new research domain called Web Intelligence. Research in Web Intelligence contributes to the development of algorithms, models and tools to handle the social and economic impact of the web usages.

The workshop will provide presentation and discussion opportunities for researchers working on web intelligence applied to collaborative networks, such as virtual enterprises and organizations. The possibilities and consequences of the web usage for collaborative networks are tremendous and new tools are required to satisfy users and service providers. Thus, Web Intelligence brings new research problems related to information and service access, quality of service, personalization, privacy preserving, trust as well as other issues.

The workshop Web Intelligence and Virtual Enterprises (VE) expects contributions on topics such as:

   * Multi-agent models and tools for VE
   * Services and Grid Services for VE, Service oriented architectures
   * Web information mining, filtering and retrieval within/for VE
   * Web-based applications and plate-forms for VE
   * Intelligent web interaction, querying, diffusion
   * Semantics and ontology engineering for VE
   * Self-* models and techniques for VE
   * Social networks modelling, virtual communities, social intelligence
   * Context-based approach, profile management, personalization and recommendations for/through VE
   * Privacy preserving, security, trust-based computing & reputation systems
   * Applications: E-* (market, procurement, technologies, health, government, etc.) and VE
   * VE and content and knowledge repositories, behaviour modelling and exchange
   * Web intelligence, mobility and VE, Ambient Intelligence, Pervasive computing

The organization of the Web Intelligence & Virtual Enterprises workshop at PRO-VE'10 is supported by the Web Intelligence project from the French Rhône-Alpes regional cluster ISLE.

*SUBMISSIONS*

The Web Intelligence and Virtual Enterprises workshop welcomes the submission of theoretical, experimental, methodological as well as application papers. Papers may report on completed work, descriptions of work in progress or discussion papers.

Submitted papers will undergo a thorough review process. Papers will be published into the CD-Rom of the conference. In addition, a selection of the workshop papers will be published as post-proceedings in a special issue of the International Journal of Web Intelligence and Agent Systems (http://www.iospress.nl/loadtop/load.php?isbn=15701263).

Submitted papers should be 16 pages maximum in length, including figures and references. The paper must be formatted according to the double column style guidelines for A4 papers available here: http://wi-consortium.org/wias/submissionInst.html

WI 2010 will provide a leading international forum of scientific
research and development to explore the fundamental interactions
between AI-engineering and Advanced Information Technology 
(e.g., wireless networks, ubiquitous devices, social networks, and
data/knowledge grids), and their role on the next generation of
Web-empowered products, Web systems and services.  AI-engineering
refers to a new area, slightly beyond traditional AI, which encompasses:
brain informatics, human level AI, intelligent agents, social network
intelligence, knowledge engineering, representation, planning, data
mining and discovery.

WI 2010 will be jointly held with the 2010 IEEE/WIC/ACM International
Conference on Intelligent Agent Technology (IAT-10).  The two
conferences will have a joint opening, keynote, reception, and
banquet. Attendees only need to register for one conference and can
attend workshops, sessions, tutorials, panels, exhibits and
demonstrations across the two conferences. We are also planning a
joint panel, joint paper sessions, and a doctoral mentoring program to
discuss common problems in the two areas.

High-quality papers in all WI related areas are solicited. 
Paper submissions should be limited to a maximum of 8 pages in 
the IEEE 2-column format. 
The same format will be used for final camera-ready papers
(see the Author Guidelines at
http://www.ieeeconfpublishing.org/cpir/AuthorKit.asp?Community=CPS&Facility=CPS_Dec&ERoom=WI%2DIAT+2008).  
All submitted papers will be reviewed by the Program Committee 
on the basis of technical quality, relevance, significance, and clarity. 

Note that WI'10 will accept ONLY on-line submissions in 
PDF format. Please use the Submission Form on the WI'10
website to submit your paper. Accepted papers will be published in the
conference proceedings by the IEEE Computer Society Press that is
indexed by EI.

Submissions accepted as regular papers will be allocated 8 pages in the
proceedings and accorded oral presentation in the main conference. 
Submissions accepted as short papers will be allocated 4
pages in the proceedings and will have a shorter presentation time at
the conference than regular papers.

All co-authors will be notified for the submission,
notification, and confirmation on the attendance. Submitting a paper
to the conference and workshops means that, if the paper is accepted,
at least one author should attend the conference to present the
paper. The acceptance list and no-show list will be openly published
on-line. For no-show authors, their affiliations will receive a notification. 

Papers receiving outstanding review scores from WI'10 will be 
invited for possible inclusion, in an expanded/revised form, 
in Web Intelligence and Agent Systems: An International Journal 
(http://wi-consortium.org/journal.html). Those that are recommended by 
reviewer(s) to the Journal will also be considered.

The best paper awards will be conferred at the conference on the
authors of (1) the best research paper and (2) the best application
paper. Application-oriented submissions will be considered for the
best application paper award.

to the Web intelligence community. Both short (2 hours) and long (half

Industry/Demo-Track

We solicit Industry/Demo-Track papers by the following methods.

(1) Industry papers of 4 pages can be submitted on the same schedule as
    the research track.
(2) Separate 2 page demo proposals can submitted at a later schedule.
(3) Full regular paper submissions can include a demo option.
    That is, a full paper submissions will be asked to
    specify if they would like to give a demonstration; choice of
    demonstrations (while utilizing information from the regular reviewing
    process) will be selected based on value as a demonstration.
