The speed and the quality of expanding and creating a vast variety of multimedia services like voice, email, short messages, Internet access, m-commerce, to mobile video conferencing, streaming video and audio has brought true mobile multimedia experiences to mobile customers. Due to constant changing environments, limited battery life and diverse data types, Mobile Multimedia implies considerable challenges to operators, infrastructure builders in terms of ensuring fast, reliable services and accommodating the quick growing global customer needs.
MoMM2010 aims to provide an international forum by researchers, students, and professionals for presenting recent research results on mobile computing and multimedia, and to bring together experts from both academia and industry for the exchange of ideas and discussion on future challenges in mobile computing and multimedia.

Submitted papers will be blindly peer reviewed by at least three members of the international program committee and carefully evaluated based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. ICAART 2011 (International Conference on Agents and Artificial Intelligence - http://www.icaart.org) has an open call for papers, whose deadline is set for next July 08. The conference will be held in Rome, Italy next year, on January 28-30, 2011 and we hope you can participate in this prestigious conference by submitting a paper reflecting your current research. The conference is sponsored by INSTICC and held in cooperation with the Portuguese Association for Artificial Intelligence (APPIA), the Spanish Association for Artificial Intelligence (AEPIA) and the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI). INSTICC is member of the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC), Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents (FIPA) and the Object Management Group (OMG). The purpose of the 3rd International Conference on Agents and Artificial Intelligence (ICAART) is to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested in the theory and applications in these areas. Two simultaneous but strongly related tracks will be held, covering both applications and current research work within the area of Agents, Multi-Agent Systems and Software Platforms, Distributed Problem Solving and Distributed AI in general, including web applications, on one hand, and within the area of non-distributed AI, including the more traditional areas such as Knowledge Representation, Planning, Learning, Scheduling, Perception and also not so traditional areas such as Reactive AI Systems, Evolutionary Computing and other aspects of Computational Intelligence and many other areas related to intelligent systems, on the other hand. Overview and Aim
======================================================
The International Web Rule Symposium has evolved from an annual series
of international workshops since 2002, international conferences in 2005
and 2006, and international symposia since 2007. This year, the 4th
International Web Rule Symposium (RuleML-2010) will be held near
Washington, DC, USA, co-located with the 13th Business Rules Forum, the
world's largest Business Rules event. RuleML-2010 is devoted to
practical distributed rule technologies and rule-based applications,
which need language standards for rules (inter)operating in, e.g., the
Semantic Web, Enterprise Systems, Intelligent Multi-Agent Systems,
Event-Driven Architectures, and Service-Oriented Applications.
RuleML-2010 is a research-based, industry-focused symposium: its main
goal is to build a bridge between academia and industry in the field of
rules and semantic technology, and so to stimulate the cooperation and
interoperability between business and research, by bringing together
rule system providers, participants in rule standardization efforts,
open source communities, practitioners, and researchers. The concept of
the symposium has also advanced continuously in the face of extremely
rapid progress in practical rule and event processing technologies. As a
result, RuleML-2010 will feature hands-on demonstrations and challenges
alongside a wide range of thematic tracks. It will thus be an exciting
venue to exchange new ideas and experiences on all issues related to the
engineering, management, integration, interoperation, and interchange of
rules in distributed enterprise intranets and open distributed
environments.

RuleML-2010 Challenge
======================================================
The RuleML-2010 Challenge is one of the highlights of RuleML-2010. Rules
are used in interesting and practically relevant ways to, e.g., derive
useful information, transform knowledge, provide decision support, and
provide automated rule-based monitoring, enforcement, validation or
management of the behavioral logic of an application. The Challenge
offers participants the chance to demonstrate their commercial and open
source tools, use cases, and applications.
This year Rule Challenge will have the following theme:
"Modelling Rules in the Temporal and Geospatial Applications"
The participants of the Challenge have the opportunity to understand the current trend of rule technology and standard development in the temporal and geospatial domain including:
- temporal modelling and reasoning;
- geospatial modelling and reasoning;
- cross linking between temporal and geospatial knowledge;
- visualization of the rules with graphics models in order to favour the end-user interaction.

To ensure high quality, submitted papers will be carefully peer-reviewed by 3 PC members based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. Authors are requested to upload the abstracts of their papers before May 25, 2010 and to upload their complete papers by June 1, 2010. The selected papers will be published in book form in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series. The best paper from all submissions will be determined by the PC and a Best Paper Award will be presented at the Symposium. All submissions must be made electronically. A selection of revised papers will be resubmitted to a special issue of a journal.

Overview and Aim

The International Web Rule Symposium has evolved from an annual series
of international workshops since 2002, international conferences in 2005
and 2006, and international symposia since 2007. This year, the 4th
International Web Rule Symposium (RuleML-2010) will be held near
Washington, DC, USA, co-located with the 13th Business Rules Forum, the
world's largest Business Rules event. RuleML-2010 is devoted to
practical distributed rule technologies and rule-based applications,
which need language standards for rules (inter)operating in, e.g., the
Semantic Web, Enterprise Systems, Intelligent Multi-Agent Systems,
Event-Driven Architectures, and Service-Oriented Applications.
RuleML-2010 is a research-based, industry-focused symposium: its main
goal is to build a bridge between academia and industry in the field of
rules and semantic technology, and so to stimulate the cooperation and
interoperability between business and research, by bringing together
rule system providers, participants in rule standardization efforts,
open source communities, practitioners, and researchers. The concept of
the symposium has also advanced continuously in the face of extremely
rapid progress in practical rule and event processing technologies. As a
result, RuleML-2010 will feature hands-on demonstrations and challenges
alongside a wide range of thematic tracks. It will thus be an exciting
venue to exchange new ideas and experiences on all issues related to the
engineering, management, integration, interoperation, and interchange of
rules in distributed enterprise intranets and open distributed
environments.

This year, we particularly welcome submissions that address applications
of Web rule technologies for business and information systems. We invite

RuleML-2010 Challenge
======================================================
The RuleML-2010 Challenge is one of the highlights of RuleML-2010. Rules
are used in interesting and practically relevant ways to, e.g., derive
useful information, transform knowledge, provide decision support, and
provide automated rule-based monitoring, enforcement, validation or
management of the behavioral logic of an application. The Challenge
offers participants the chance to demonstrate their commercial and open
source tools, use cases, and applications.
This year Rule Challenge will have the following theme:
"Modelling Rules in the Temporal and Geospatial Applications"
The participants of the Challenge have the opportunity to understand the current trend of rule technology and standard development in the temporal and geospatial domain including:
- temporal modelling and reasoning;
- geospatial modelling and reasoning;
- cross linking between temporal and geospatial knowledge;
- visualization of the rules with graphics models in order to favour the end-user interaction.

To ensure high quality, submitted papers will be carefully peer-reviewed by 3 PC members based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. Authors are requested to upload the abstracts of their papers before May 25, 2010 and to upload their complete papers by June 1, 2010. The selected papers will be published in book form in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series. The best paper from all submissions will be determined by the PC and a Best Paper Award will be presented at the Symposium. All submissions must be made electronically. A selection of revised papers will be resubmitted to a special issue of a journal.

Both within AI systems and in interactive systems, the ability to explain reasoning processes and results can substantially affect system usability. For example, in recommender systems good explanations may help to inspire user trust and loyalty, increase satisfaction, make it quicker and easier for users to find what they want, and persuade them to try or buy a recommended item.
Current interest in mixed-initiative systems provides a new context in which explanation issues may play a crucial role. When knowledge-based systems are partners in an interactive socio-technical process, with incomplete and changing problem descriptions, communication between human and software systems is a central part. Explanations exchanged between human agents and software agents may play an important role in mixed-initiative problem solving.
Other disciplines such as cognitive science, linguistics, philosophy of science, psychology, and education have investigated explanation as well. They consider varying aspects, making it clear that there are many different views of the nature of explanation and facets of explanation to explore. Within the field of knowledge-based systems, explanations have been considered as an important link between humans and machines. There, their main purpose has been to increase the confidence of the user in the system’s result, by providing evidence of how it was derived. Additional AI research has focused on how computer systems can use explanations themselves, for example to guide learning.
This workshop series aims to draw on multiple perspectives on explanation, to examine how explanation can be applied to further the development of robust and dependable systems and to illuminate system processes to increase user acceptance and feeling of control.

Ubiquitous sensors, devices, networks and information are paving the way towards a smart world in which computational intelligence is distributed throughout the physical environment to provide reliable and relevant services to people. This ubiquitous intelligence will change the computing landscape because it will enable new breeds of applications and systems to be developed and the realm of computing possibilities will be significantly extended. By enhancing everyday objects with intelligence, many tasks and processes could be simplified, the physical spaces where people interact like the workplaces and homes, could become more efficient, safer and more enjoyable. Ubiquitous computing, or pervasive computing, uses these many “smart things or u-things” to create smart environments, services and applications.
A smart thing can be endowed with different levels of intelligence, and may be context-aware, active, interactive, reactive, proactive, assistive, adaptive, automated, sentient, perceptual, cognitive, autonomic and/or thinking. Research on ubiquitous intelligence is an emerging research field covering many disciplines. A series of grand challenges exist to move from the current level of computing services to the smart world of adaptive and intelligent services. Started in 2005, the series of UIC conferences has been held in Taipei, Nagasaki, Three Gorges (China), Hong Kong, Oslo and Brisbane. UIC 2010 will include a highly selective program of technical papers, accompanied by workshops, panel discussions and keynote speeches. Established as a premier venue in the area of ubiquitous intelligence and computing, UIC 2010 will offer a forum for researchers to exchange ideas and experiences in developing intelligent/smart objects, environments and systems.

- ABOUT THE WORKSHOP -

Competitive businesses and an ever changing market have demanded that current organizations constantly evolve. To achieve that, it becomes necessary to develop a deep understanding of the organizational practices and systems. This motivates an increasing interest in business processes engineering. Such interest has the benefit to allow a deep understanding of the processes that generate the main products and services offered by the organization. This may lead to: a) enhance these processes to obtain higher quality both in products and services; b) develop information systems which are more in line with the current processes, so that such systems more appropriately satisfy user requirements; and c) provide documentation of the applied practices, reading to more efficient knowledge management, which enables the integration of newcomers within the organization.
However, to guarantee that business process engineering is applied to its full potential, keeping the organization competitive, it is necessary to understand how these processes achieve the local and strategic goals of the organization. This may guide the decision regarding which activities and processes should be the priorities of that particular organization.
Goal modeling has gained a lot of attention in the past few years, especially in the field of Requirements Engineering. In this context, goals are applied as a natural modeling construct to capture the requirements of a system to-be. Within the Business Process Engineering community, some works have included the concept of goal as modeling primitive, acknowledging its importance to motivate processes that underlie organizations. However, up to very recently, such goal models have remained peripheral and often ignored in current business process engineering practices.
The International Workshop on Goal-based Business Process Engineering (WGBP 2010) is the first of what we hope to be many events that bring together researchers and practitioners in the areas of goals and business process engineering to discuss how these two complementary areas may be integrated. This way, we hope to contribute to the development of each of these areas, as well as to create a forum where works that combine them may be published and discussed.

This workshop accepts two kinds of papers: short papers (up to 4 pages long) and full papers (up to 8 pages long). All submissions to workshops must comply with the IEEE Computer Society conference proceedings format guidelines (http://www2.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting) (please use the latest template as there have been updates recently). Submissions must be in English and must be made using EasyChair (http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=wgbp2010).
Workshop proceedings will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Press and will be accessible through IEEE Xplore and the IEEE Computer Society Digital Library. In order to have the paper published, at least one author of each accepted workshop paper will have to register for the whole EDOC 2010 conference and attend the workshop to present the paper. The IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (e.g., removal from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the workshop.
All papers will be refereed by at least 3 members of the international program committee. Reviews are based on originality, relevance, technical soundness and presentation (all paper sections are considered for review, not only an extended abstract).

- ABOUT THE WORKSHOP -

Competitive businesses and an ever changing market have demanded that current organizations constantly evolve. To achieve that, it becomes necessary to develop a deep understanding of the organizational practices and systems. This motivates an increasing interest in business processes engineering. Such interest has the benefit to allow a deep understanding of the processes that generate the main products and services offered by the organization. This may lead to: a) enhance these processes to obtain higher quality both in products and services; b) develop information systems which are more in line with the current processes, so that such systems more appropriately satisfy user requirements; and c) provide documentation of the applied practices, reading to more efficient knowledge management, which enables the integration of newcomers within the organization.
However, to guarantee that business process engineering is applied to its full potential, keeping the organization competitive, it is necessary to understand how these processes achieve the local and strategic goals of the organization. This may guide the decision regarding which activities and processes should be the priorities of that particular organization.
Goal modeling has gained a lot of attention in the past few years, especially in the field of Requirements Engineering. In this context, goals are applied as a natural modeling construct to capture the requirements of a system to-be. Within the Business Process Engineering community, some works have included the concept of goal as modeling primitive, acknowledging its importance to motivate processes that underlie organizations. However, up to very recently, such goal models have remained peripheral and often ignored in current business process engineering practices.
The International Workshop on Goal-based Business Process Engineering (WGBP 2010) is the first of what we hope to be many events that bring together researchers and practitioners in the areas of goals and business process engineering to discuss how these two complementary areas may be integrated. This way, we hope to contribute to the development of each of these areas, as well as to create a forum where works that combine them may be published and discussed.

- SUBMISSION GUIDELINES -

This workshop accepts two kinds of papers: short papers (up to 4 pages long) and full papers (up to 8 pages long). All submissions to workshops must comply with the IEEE Computer Society conference proceedings format guidelines (http://www2.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting) (please use the latest template as there have been updates recently). Submissions must be in English and must be made using EasyChair (http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=wgbp2010).
Workshop proceedings will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Press and will be accessible through IEEE Xplore and the IEEE Computer Society Digital Library. In order to have the paper published, at least one author of each accepted workshop paper will have to register for the whole EDOC 2010 conference and attend the workshop to present the paper. The IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (e.g., removal from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the workshop.
All papers will be refereed by at least 3 members of the international program committee. Reviews are based on originality, relevance, technical soundness and presentation (all paper sections are considered for review, not only an extended abstract).
